President message on 10th anniversary of MISSAB

Welcome to the 10th anniversary celebration of the Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeons Association of Bharat (MISSAB). Since our founding in 2014, we have transformed spine care in India, making minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) safer, faster, and more accessible, our journey from a small group of visionary surgeons to a national leader in spine care reflects the dedication of our members, faculty, and partners. As we celebrate this milestone, we renew our commitment to innovation, education, and patient care, aiming to reach every corner of Bharat with world-class spine surgery.

Over the past decade, MISSAB has hosted groundbreaking conferences, published influential research, and trained hundreds of surgeons. Our flagship journal, JMISST, and our book, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, have set global standards. Looking ahead, we envision a future where MISS is the standard of care, supported by cutting-edge technology and widespread accessibility.

As MISSAB commemorates its 10th anniversary, we pause with deep reverence to remember and honour the visionary who laid the foundation of this association-the late Dr. Prof. ArvindJayaswal

A pioneer of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery in India. Dr. Jayaswal was not only an exceptional surgeon but also an inspiring leader, a mentor to many, and a constant advocate for academic excellence. It was under his guidance and foresight that MISSAB was born in 2014 with the goal of building a robust. inclusive, and academically driven community of spine surgeons across the country.

Dr. Jayaswal’s contributions to MISSAB and the broader spine surgery fraternity are immeasurable. His relentless pursuit of innovation, commitment to teaching, and compassionate approach to patient care set the tone for MISSAB’s values. Through the years, he remained a guiding force, shaping both the growth of the organization and the professional journeys of countless surgeons.

On this milestone anniversary, we at MISSAB dedicate our gratitude, our progress, and our continuing mission to Dr. Jayaswal’s memory, While he may no longer walk among us, his ideals, teachings, and unwavering commitment to excellence will forever remain at the heart of MISSAB.
