MISSICON 2016 was conducted at Delhi in the month of October, 2016 at JW Marriott hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi. it was attended by nearly 300 delegates and faculty. Seven international faculty from Korea, Germany, Phillipines, Thailand, Holland and UK attended and contributed to the deliberations. Live surgeries on endoscopic transforaminal approach and endoscopic cervical decompression were relayed from Paras Hospital, Gurgaon to the conference venue at Delhi Aerocity.
The event was spread over three days including the first day cadaveric workshop training conducte at AIIMS trauma centre cadaver lab. The cadaveric lab workshop was a big attraction and was very sought after.
The conference introduced the concept of full endoscopic spine surgery using working channel endoscope for various spine disorderes besides the disc surgery to India for the first time by Dr Martin Komp from Herne, Germany.
The event also introduced for the first time in India, the concept of Sacral Epiduroscopic Laser Disc Decompression procedure.
A new innovative session for future brainstorming and stimulating the surgeons towards trying to create innovative ideas for future development “I Wish Session” was introduced at the conference and was well appreciate by the delegates and faculty.
Nearly 130 invited faculty and delegate free paper lectures were presented at the conference covering all the aspects of minimally invasive spine surgery and the biologic basis of these upcoming techniques.
