The second edition of MIS-LiveCad was conducted in MSR Advanced Learning centre, Bengaluru on the 28th and 29th of April 2018, under the aegis of MISSI. It was a pure hands on cadaver workshop covering all the facets of MISSI.
There were separate batches for
- Tubular retractor – Basic course (5 cadaveric stations with 20 delegates and 6 faculty)
- Tubular retractor – Advanced course (6 cadaveric stations with 24 delegates and 6 faculty)
- Percutaneous Full Endoscopic approaches (4 cadaveric stations with 16 delegates and 4 faculty)
- Interlaminar endoscopic approach (Destendau) (4 cadaveric stations with 15 delegates and 4 faculty)
Overall, there were 19 cadaveric stations training 75 delegates over 2 days, making it the biggest cadaveric hands-on workshop on minimally invasive spine in the country. Moreover, each cadaver station was equipped with all requisite equipments and instruments to simulate a real operative experience, as much as possible. There were many positive remarks from the attending delegates.
The organising team of Dr. Rajakumar Deshpande and Dr. Umesh Srikantha sincerely thank the many members and office bearers of MISSI (presently MISSAB), without whose support and contribution, an event of such magnitude couldn’t have been conducted so successfully.
